Suir Engineering’s Sustainability Commitment
At Suir Engineering we are committed to integrating sustainability into our business and across the value chain, reducing our impact on the environment and the society we live in, while driving positive change for future generations.
Sustainability at Suir Engineering means managing and reporting on our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance across all operations and departments. We want to operate profitably with consideration for people, communities, and the environments we work in. Our aim is to exceed the expectations of our industry, clients, the value chain, and society, embedding ESG principles into every aspect of our growth and success.
Governance
Suir Engineering has established a Sustainability Committee to provide advice and guidance on all matters related to sustainability. Its members are responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with sustainability legislation and regulations, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy, and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), while approving future sustainability reports and corporate targets to integrate sustainability into the company’s operations and long-term strategy.

Decarbonisation
Suir Engineering is committed to reducing its carbon footprint across our operations. In 2024, we submitted our first CDP disclosure, marking the start of an ongoing, transparent reporting journey. We have also committed to setting near- and long-term greenhouse gas emission reduction targets with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligning with global climate goals. To achieve this, we are establishing a baseline for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and developing a Climate Transition Plan and Decarbonisation Pathway in 2025. The full pathway will be detailed in our 2026 sustainability report.

Sustainable Procurement
Suir Engineering is committed to embedding sustainability into our procurement practices, ensuring responsible sourcing across our operations and supply chain. As partners of the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we are enhancing supplier engagement and upskilling to ensure that our valued supply chain partners are part of the journey with us. We undergo annual EcoVadis assessments, evaluating our own performance to drive continuous improvement. In 2025, we will implement a sustainable procurement system to strengthen environmental, social, and ethical practices among our supply chain partners.

Sustainability Reporting
In compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), we completed a Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) in December 2024. This process identifies material environmental, social, and financial impacts, ensuring focused reporting on significant areas. The DMA marks a key milestone in the company’s sustainability journey. The next step involves conducting a gap analysis based on the findings, which will shape the development of a new sustainability strategy and roadmap for 2025.
